I’ve worked with teams from:

I am a design thinking coach, educator and facilitator who believes in the transformative power of design thinking and in the value of collaborative, rapid design.

Over the past 4 years, I have worked as a consultant and trainer, helping dozens of organizations solve tough problems and learn the value of human-centered design.

Prior to beginning my consulting practice, I was the Director of User Experience at Hobsons, a global education solutions company that provides tools to 8.5 million K-12 students in more than 80 countries. I introduced user experience and user research into the product development process via design studios, persona workshops and remote research, and brought Lean UX methodology into the corporate culture by offering discovery coaching and story mapping workshops to the product teams.

My first end-to-end Lean UX project on a team at Hobsons resulted in a college and career readiness curriculum for urban teenagers that generated more than $8.5 million in revenue during its first year of launch. That successful experiment led to the creation of the company's innovation team, on which I served on as Director of UX for R&D for 3 years.

Prior to my work at Hobsons, I applied human-centered design principles to head the interaction design, workflow design and user experience design for a Fortune 5000 company's new division. The outcome was so successful that it resulted in a complete pivot in the company's business model.

A visual designer and entrepreneur, I’ve also been an exhibit and graphic designer for an interactive children’s science museum; a professional singer; an IA and front-end developer for an Inc. 500 company; the founder and partner in a successful web consulting business; a fire juggler; and the proprietor of a stained glass studio that designed, produced and sold glass giftware to galleries and catalog companies around the world.

I have a BA in Art History and Visual Art from Duke University, and a Masters in Human Factors from Bentley University.
